Obituary for Allan F. MacInnes

Allan F.  MacInnes
AUBURN- Allan F. MacInnes,78, previously of Worcester, died Saturday April 29, 2017 in the Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness surrounded by his loving family.

He was born and raised in Worcester and was the son of the late Daniel and Katherine (MacKenzie) MacInnes. Allan served his country proudly with the United States Air Force honorably being discharged in 1960.

Allan worked for the Polaroid Corporation for many years before he retired. Even though Allan was born in the United States his heart was always in Nova Scotia, Canada where his parents were born and he spent summers as a child, as a young man and in recent years after he retired from work.

He leaves his wife, Marie T. (Dinarello) MacInnes; his five children and their spouses, Katherine M. Iacoviello and her husband Joseph of Reading, William A. MacInnes and his wife Maria of Melrose, Karen M. Pecci and her husband Alan and Karole L. O’Leary and her husband Timothy of Sutton and Allan J. MacInnes and his wife Lydia of Virginia; eighteen grandchildren, Timothy and his wife Megan, Joseph and his wife Megan, Nicholas and his wife Sandra, Daniel, Jill, Katrena, Elizabeth, Jack, Victoria, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Anthony, Christina, Michael, Chelsea, Carrie, Allan and Dominic; one great granddaughter, Meredith; a brother, Milton MacInnes and his wife Constance of Worcester; also survived by extended family as well as very close friends in Canada.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Allan’s family on May 13, 2017 from 3:00-4:30 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. George’s Channel Community Hall, ℅ D. Begg, 3363 West Bay Highway, St. George’s Channel, NS, Canada, BOE 3KO.
