Obituary for Gloria M Sliwowski (Sampson)
Gloria M. (Sampson) Sliwowski, 90, longtime Auburn resident passed away on Wednesday December 5, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving children. She had been under the care of Central MA Hospice for the last seven months.
She was born in Northbridge daughter of the late Clarence and Sophie Laura (Ausson) Sampson. Gloria had lived in Auburn for the past 62 years.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband Sigmund T. “Ziggy” Sliwowski who passed on October 5th of this year. She leaves behind her three children, Mary Sliwowski with whom she lived, Thomas Sliwowski of South Grafton and Ann Sliwowski of Auburn; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother Laurent Sampson.
Gloria loved being a full-time mother and caring for her family and her home was her first priority, she also enjoyed baking, sewing and knitting.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass celebrating Gloria and Sigmund lives on Monday December 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Gloria and Ziggy will be buried together following the funeral Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers Gloria’s family suggests memorial donations may be made to Central MA Hospice, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn, MA 01501. Gloria was very thankful for the wonderful compassionate care she received from hospice members. It was greatly appreciated an “everyone was wonderful to us”. BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St, Auburn is directing arrangements for the Sliwowski family.
