Obituary for Frederick C "Uncle Fred" LaCasse

Frederick C "Uncle Fred" LaCasse
WORCESTER - Frederick C LaCasse, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 20, 2019 in the evening at St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness just five days after his 94th birthday. Uncle Fred was born, raised, and educated in Worcester, son of Amadee and Beatrice (Boisseau) LaCasse. Uncle Fred passed from this world into the arms of his late, beloved wife Pauline (Popo) (Andresano) LaCasse who died in 2011. Uncle Fred and Aunt Popo resided in Auburn for over 50 years. He retired from the Auburn Highway Department and also served his community as a Special Police Officer and volunteer Fire Fighter.

Fred was very active with the Auburn Knights of Columbus, having attained 4th degree Knighthood in the John Cardinal Wright Assembly. As a very young man he worked a variety of jobs in order to contribute to his family. There wasn’t much that he could not do. He drove truck, did electrical work, carpentry and masonry jobs and was all too happy to help someone in need. He was a kind, gentle and generous man with a great sense of humor.

Shortly after Popo passed, Fred returned to Worcester. He loved his new friends and neighbors at the Mount Carmel Apartments. Although slowed by age and physical impairments Uncle Fred lived alone and loved to cook and make a cake every week. He enjoyed having ‘coffee and’ with his neighbors and Monday night Bingo, a place where he will be missed.

Fred is survived by his many nieces and nephews; Edward Gardella of Worcester, Missy Gardella of Worcester, Susan Rogers and Vincent Andresano of Millbury, Lynne Feiz of Sutton, Joseph Rinaldi of Brewster, Frank Rinaldi of Portland, Texas, Mary Migala of Pennsylvania, Ralph and Linda Andresano of Tuscon, Arizona, Denise Donoghue and her husband Jim of Pocasset, MA, Suzanne Picard and her husband Robert of Oxford, John Falcone and his wife Marjorie of Clayton, California, Paul Falcone and his wife Carole of Rutland, Marguerite Savage of Litteton, Colorado, LynnAnn Lamanuzzi and her husband of Leo of Littleton, Colorado, Nancy Paquette and her husband Guy of Grafton, Freda Orsi and her husband Louis of Millbury, Brenda Garry and her husband Michael of New York, New York, RuthAnn Maxwell and her husband Robert of Hubbardston, Scott LaCasse and his wife Doris of Spencer, and George LaCasse and his wife Susan of Spencer.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, his brothers George, Norman and Philip and his sisters Alice Falcone and Marcelle Nault and, of course, his lady love Popo.
