Condolences

Condolence From: Patricia McGinnis
Condolence: My mom Ruth (Farady) McGinnis passed away three years ago at the age of 94. I think she would want me to pay tribute on her behalf to her lifelong friend Dorcas. From their growing up as little girls on College Hill to the end of my mom's life in 2016, they stayed connected. I only met her once, when I drove my parents to Auburn to visit her about 15 years ago. My parents had brought a grainy old movie from their own wedding, which showed all the girlfriends from College Ave. My parents had retired to Florida, but kept in touch with Worcester all their lives. After my mom was widowed, she and Dorcas kept in touch by phone, and Dorcas was a friend to her forever. Dorcas certainly outlived most of her friends and contemporaries, but I hope it may comfort her remaining family to know that the memory of her lives on in more places than you can imagine.
