Pauline I Klett (Laverta)
Pauline I. (Lavertu) Klett, 85, of the Southgate Community in Shrewsbury and formerly from Bedford Massachusetts, died Thursday, January 31, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Pauline was born in Manchester, New Hampshire daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Turgeon) Lavertu. She was predeceased by a baby brother, Leo Lavertu. She graduated from St. George High School and attended Hesser Business College. Pauline entered the United States Air Force and served the country proudly during the Korean Conflict.

She married the love of her life, Thomas F. Klett in 1956. When they started their family Pauline’s major focus became the raising of their two children and creating a loving home. To be with her children, she took a job at the elementary school as a lunch cashier. As the children became older, she took a job as an inspector and supervisor at Testing labs of North America. She then changed career paths and worked as a vault custodian for Bay Bank from where she retired.

She leaves her beloved husband of 62 years, Thomas F. Klett; a son, Michael F. Klett and his wife Ann of Lake Forest, California; a daughter Diane I. Klett and her partner Dawn Hamel of Auburn; three grandchildren, George, Sarah, and David; two cousins she revered as brothers, Emile Lavertu of Tilton, NH and Donald Lavertu who predeceased her; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pauline enjoyed square dancing, bowling, puzzles, adult coloring, and was an active participant in the Southgate community. She had a passion for traveling and loved being on the ocean while cruising.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pauline’s family on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 5-8 pm at BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be on Friday, February 8, 2019, with a funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 am at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury. Entombment will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Mt.
