Carol J.  Savage (Banach)
Carol J. (Banach) Savage, 78, of Auburn passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Tuesday March 5th in her home.

Carol was born and raised in Worcester daughter of the late Helen (Miller) Banach. She graduated from South High School and later from Salters Secretarial School. Carol was married to Joseph P. Savage for 25 years before he passed in 1988.

Carol had worked for UMASS in the Outpatient Admission office for over 16 years before she retired in 2005. In her retirement years Carol enjoyed being active at the Auburn Senior Center where she participated in many activities including traveling with her many friends, enjoying time with the red hat group. She spent many hours knitting hats for donation at many organizations. She also loved her friends in the Potter Farm neighborhood.

Carol’s leaves a sister Dorothy Banach of Westboro, her loving children, Michael J. Savage and his wife Donna of Charlton, Thomas J. Savage and his wife Lynn of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Karen M. Celona and her husband David of Holden; five grandchildren, Bailey, Brant, Mackenzie, Julianna and Joseph as well as many friends at the Auburn Senior Center and the Potter Farm Neighborhood.

Carols’ family wishes to thank Central Mass VNA and a special thank you to Laura’s Guardian Angels for their unbelievable compassionate care that was given to Carol and her family in her final weeks.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carol’s family on Thursday March 7, 2019 from 4-7 pm at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be on Friday March 8, 2019 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 am at North American Martyrs’ Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be next to her husband in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations made to The Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center, 4 Goddard Drive, Auburn, MA 01501 or to the Special Olympics Massachusetts, 512 Forest St, Marlborough, MA 01752.
