Obituary for
Glen D. Wilkin
Glen D. Wilkin, 58, of Worcester and formerly of Auburn died peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 after a brief illness with his family at his side.
Born in Worcester, Glen was raised in Auburn, the son of the late Walter H and Helen E. (Kay) Wilkin. After graduating from Auburn High School in 1979, Glen began working in the construction industry where he learned and perfected his handy skills. For all of his career, Glen increasingly became well known for his ability to handle any project from beginning to end as he had mastered so many areas of construction.
While not at work, Glen continued to love to work with his hands, often working around the yard. A New England Patriots fan, Glen always enjoyed watching football. As time went on, Glen became more connected with nature.
A favorite New England destination for Glen was Camp Hedding, in Epping, New Hampshire where he was found spending most of his summer weekends. In his later years, Glen grew to like freedom and traveled all across America, staying as long as he enjoyed at one stop, and often set off without having determined where his next stop would be. He enjoyed sharing details of the beauty of each part while on his many adventures.
Glen is survived by his son Erik Wilkin and his wife Erin of Auburn; siblings Jayne Wilkin of Sandwich, Douglas Wilkin and his wife Barbara of Plastow, New Hampshire, Alan Wilkin of Haverhill, Sue Werholn and husband Robert of Holden; grandchildren Trey and Anna Wilkin.
Services for Glen will be held in private by his family with the assistance of the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn.
