Sharon A. (Trainor) Whorton, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Jeffrey J. Whorton, who passed in 2019.

She leaves her children, Jennifer L. Carney and her husband Howard, of Charlton, and Ryan P. Whorton and his wife Christine, of New Jersey; and her grandsons, Jack T. and Drew J. Carney.

Born in Worcester, Sharon was raised and educated in Auburn, where she graduated from high school. She then began her career as a paraprofessional in the Auburn Public Schools, retiring after fifteen years of dedication.

Sharon loved watching golf on TV, animals, but most of all, cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She also loved her summer trips to Hampton Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 (worcesterarl.org/donate/).

Burial will be held privately at St. John’s Cemetery, alongside her husband. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.

Dear Jenn and family,
I remember how you first mentioned your Mom to me. You were unpacking materials
into your Lake Street School classroom... so long ago.
I offer you the sincerest of comfort in her passing and consolation in knowing
that she was in her home.
You must be a great Mom to your boys and hopefully teaching them during these
exceptional times.
Live well in her memory, remembering only what was good.

Dear Jeffery,
I wanted to share my deep sorrow regarding Sharon's death. I got to know Sharon through the office of Dr. Terrance McGovern
and it was always a pleasure to see and talk with Sharon. I will always remember her " infectious" laugh and very kindly way. Death
is very much a part of life today but very soon, under God's Kingdom death will be no more> Revelation 21;3&4.
