Obituary for Sharon A. Whorton (Trainor)

Sharon A. (Trainor) Whorton, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Jeffrey J. Whorton, who passed in 2019.

She leaves her children, Jennifer L. Carney and her husband Howard, of Charlton, and Ryan P. Whorton and his wife Christine, of New Jersey; and her grandsons, Jack T. and Drew J. Carney.

Born in Worcester, Sharon was raised and educated in Auburn, where she graduated from high school. She then began her career as a paraprofessional in the Auburn Public Schools, retiring after fifteen years of dedication.

Sharon loved watching golf on TV, animals, but most of all, cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She also loved her summer trips to Hampton Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 (worcesterarl.org/donate/).

Burial will be held privately at St. John’s Cemetery, alongside her husband. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
