Obituary for Patricia A. "Pat" Flury (Whittaker)
Patricia A. (Whittaker) Flury, 85, formerly of Auburn and Brewster, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 after a long battle with dementia.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Flury, Sr. of 67 years, and their children, Jayne Schwartz and her husband, Martin, of Leicester, Barbara Burtt and her husband Elwood of Leicester, Patricia Chenevert of Leicester, Paul Jr. and his wife, Patrice of Oakham, and Frances Mayer and her husband, Peter of Brewster. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her lifelong friend, Sally Graves, of Auburn.
Pat was born in Worcester, raised in Auburn, daughter of the late William and Marion (Healy) Whittaker. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1953 where she and Paul remained and raised their family. She was a devoted wife and mother who treasured her husband and children.
Pat enjoyed crocheting and camping with her family. One of her favorite spots was Bourne Scenic Park where she loved to watch the big boats go by in the canal. She also loved to go dancing with her husband and friends in their younger years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Patricia’s family on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 10:00-11:30 am at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn followed by a Prayer service at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Auburn. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Avenue, Worcester, MA 01606.
